My coach IM’ed me yesterday telling me he has an AIM virus. I gave him Spybot S&D and Ad-aware, hoping that would get rid of the problem. However, it has not. Also late last night some random girl IM’ed me with a link for “pics”. The link was cruelbeauty.com (don’t click there), so I am pretty sure that is the virus. I was wondering if anyone else has gotten this, and if so, how do I remove it?

September 20, 2005 at 11:44 pm #130512colinMemberHehe, I actually found that, downloaded it, and sent it to my coach before you replied. AIMFix said it got rid of the virus, yet a few minutes later my coach got another popup from the virus. Any other ideas?
September 21, 2005 at 1:18 pm #130511Jeff HesterKeymasterdid he/she run it in safe mode? if not he/she will be turned in to a toad (not really). start up the computer hit F8 and chose to load safe mode. then run AimFix.exe to get rid of all infected node connections. lots of information on safe mode abode: http://jayloden.com/SafeMode.htm
anyway, if this does not solve your coaches problems, i’m sorry. 🙁 jay, can help you himself “If AIMFix fails to detect your virus, please contact me (http://jayloden.com/contact.htm) with some information (preferably a HijackThis log included) and I will update AIMFix to remove the virus for you.”
