Hello,
I have had AIM (I think 5.9, I don’t know how to check without logging on) on my computer for awhile now. But since yesterday, when I try to open the program nothing happens. I have tried uninstalling the program, but as message comes up that says “this uninstall has detected that you currently have an instance of this application running.” The problem is, I don’t think I do! The message also says that I should right-click on the AIM guy and exit out but he’s not on the system tray. I downloaded the newer version (6.0) but I really don’t like it.
I also just tried deleting all the AIM files so I could just start on a clean slate but it said that the application was in use and couldn’t be deleted but now I think I’ve deleted my uninstall-AIM-thing.
Sorry if this has already been posted but I couldn’t find it anywhere else. Also sorry if this is really obvious I just don’t really get computers sometimes!
THANKS
If you want to delete all of the AIM files, you can start your PC in safe mode, then it should allow you to delete the files.

After you do that, download 5.9 and reinstall since you mentioned having already deleted some files.
Download AIM 5.9 for Windows
Please let me know if that worked for you 🙂
Thank you so much, I now have 5.9 again! I first tried that fix thing but it still would come up with the same message when I tried reinstalling it. Then I turned on the computer in safe mode after many attempts and deleted all the files and it finally worked! Thanks so much, you both were a big help!
