I had the aim version 5.9.3690.0 version and I think its not xp compatible is it? Because on my other computer I have xp now. That aim version I click on the properties and click on compatible and it only capabatible: win95, 98, and NT. The new version aim how can I make sure its xp compatible?
All new AIM versions are compatible with XP. (In fact, I believe every AIM version in existence is)
Well on the xp computer the version 5.9.3690.0 worked for a while then it stopped working. When I clicked on the aim properties it did not show xp compatible.
How exactly is it not working?
Well the taskbar aim icon disappears. When I click on the aim on destkop does not open. I try to unistall had problems. Finally it unistalled. When I click on properties compatible it showed: windows 95, 98 and NT. It was on the drop menu and it did not show windows xp on it. Now how can I get the aim xp version.
uh… AIM is already XP compatible, as Someguy mentioned. If yours isnt working, just go back to the AIM site and redownload it, then reinstall. its just a fluke that yours didnt work.
I have the same problem. Uninstalled and installed twice already. It just won’t run. THere is a process running (aim.exe), seen with taskmanager. I don’t know if it’s an XP problem, but it’s not working.
If you are getting desperate, you could always try miniaim, while you are trying to get regular AIM working. But as everyone else said. AIM 5.9 is XP compatible. It has to be, 5.9 came out after XP did.
