I was originally a gaim user, but that stopped working so i switched to AIM 6.0, and it’s been working great up until yesterday. When trying to sign in I get this error: “A server error occurred”. So then I tryed downloading AIM 5.9, and when I try to log in using 5.9 it says “The aim service can’t be reached”
Please tell me how to fix this because at the moment the only way I can access aim is via AIM express and that’s a huge pain in the ass.
On your computer, browse here:
C:WINDOWSsystem32driversetc
and open up HOSTS with notepad. Are there any additional entries other thanCode:127.0.0.1 localhostany additional 127.0.0.1 entries, like
Code:127.0.0.1 oscar.aol.comIf it looks fine, download AIM Fix and run that, then let me know if it finds anything.
I had the exact same problem with AIM 6.0, I found out thought that since my fruityloops had expired i changed the system year to 1999 when i brought the year back to 2007 it worked again for me, wierd to be honest but maybe your date might be off so check that 🙂 and also hi to everyone this is my first post
