What do you do when you have nothing to do and you’re alone?
I go out seclude myself for a couple of hours and think over myself, my personality, my life and how i can make everything better.
May 22, 2005 at 11:54 am #122283sarahtownyMemberI don’t really get much time to go and seclude myself with two children running about but if I have nothing to do (cannot remember when that last was mind you), I tend to read a book or bung on a favourite film. Or go for a walk, take photo’s, shall I carry on mmh nope boring you already. :0)
May 22, 2005 at 2:53 pm #122273TigerbladeParticipantha. i’ve spent the last week at home pretty much by myself and without work (got home from college and took a week for relaxation before starting back to work). i’ve spent the entire week doing absolutely nothing. “I did nothing. I did absolutely nothing, and it was everything I thought it could be.”
i sat at my computer and did some webdesign, i started to read a book, occasionally (like twice in the whole week) wandered downstairs to see if there was anything decent on TV, which of course there wasn’t.normally though, when i’m not bored out of my skull, i’ll try to find some time to read, or catch up on the news that i’ve probably missed, maybe do some work on the computer that needs to be done that i haven’t had time for.
May 22, 2005 at 3:26 pm #122271EEDOKMemberstart tapping on the keyboard and see where that goes…
May 22, 2005 at 4:20 pm #122279AwesomeSauceParticipantBesides doing things on my computer, when I have nothing to do, I like to go outside once in a while, and go on a walk or a bikeride in the evenings, now that it stays light here until 9:30 PM. A hot summer afternoon is usually the best time to stay inside and work at the computer.
And then there are video games… which I don’t play often anymore, but they’re something to do too.
And like Hasan, often I sit down to think over my life, how I can make this summer a good one, my social life and what I need to do to make it better.
May 22, 2005 at 6:56 pm #122284gossipingraeMemberWow, I didn’t realize how many people sit and analyze their lives. I’m not old enough to do that yet. I’ve been home from school for about 3 weeks and just started working. I hate to be bored. I ask for extra shifts at work. I make money so I can pay my bills, hang out with my friends and party, and if I have time in between, I try to get some sleep.
My life is already good as it is, I don’t need to sit around and think about what I’m gonna do next. Not until this time next year, when I graduate! 🙂

Then comes time to really kick into gear and figure out what i’m doing for the next 40 years.May 23, 2005 at 3:15 am #122280colinMemberWhen I am not at school or on the computer (which doesn’t happen much), I am usually running or working out. I also recently have tried this new thing called “eating”. I used to not eat breakfast or lunch, and I wondered why I didn’t ever get any stronger. Lately though I am eating 6 meals a day, and that actually takes up a ton of time. I also just listen to music in my spare time, or take a nap. Sometimes I watch TV or a movie or something.

Usually some oatmeal and meat, or oatmeal and a fruit, etc.
May 24, 2005 at 1:35 am #122282neo_ny_23MemberUmm when am bored and alone (which happens a lot when u studying alone in a “nerd” school where people only know to enjoy with computer games and no external activities or just love to act “dead” inside their rooms), i talk to my roomie and best friend cory.. usually we both come up with something funny to talk about or something funny to do. if he is busy or not there, i turn to my second best buddy i.e. my laptop. I visit websites like http://www.stickcricket.com, or http://www.askmen.com or http://www.viralx.com (my favorite).. if after doing all these am still bored, then google is my best friend.. just browse around and see whats new and happening at google.. or BigBlueBall is also a nice place.
The good thing is dat for last 10 weeks i have no time to be completely empty minded. its break time and there is hardly a single soul on campus here, but i am working full time at the gym from morning 7 till 9 pm in night to keep myself busy and to earn some quick bucks.
It helps a lot.
May 24, 2005 at 5:16 pm #122269sciencefeelingMemberMmm..interesting, I like to turn up the radio and sing out loud!! ..that is, when I am alone, hehehe. And…reading, I do a lot of reading. Isn´t that sad? I should do something more meaningfull with my life!
This topic made me think.

May 24, 2005 at 5:39 pm #122268Jeff HesterKeymasterI photoshop, or play a video game, or write on my blog thing or stand on my sofa listening to some rock music and headbanging and stomping on it like some crazed lunatic. You know mature sophisticated stuff like that. *grins*
May 26, 2005 at 1:43 am #122276RabidKittenParticipant“What is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?” …. it’s 42, Tom.
*yawn* mm what do I do? Well, if I’m off by myself, meaning that my roomates aren’t home, which is often enough, actually, I tend to do random things to keep myself busy. I have made entertaining ones self into an art form.
Cleaning house, which can be a chore with the boys, especially when Steven lets Zekara out of her box, then I get to pick up fake breasts and makeup too.
Playing video games, reading books, though I have run out of things to read in the last month, but thankfully a friend of mine loaned me one, so I’m back on track.
Blasting music for no reason and bopping around…after all, what’s the point of having a killer sterio system if you don’t use it?
Laying out int he yard and reading, or walking around the plants, or raking or some yard work.
I have a tendancy to randomly photoshop things together. Heck, for the better part of the year, when I was bored I would design, make and code out guild layouts for 12 year olds on neopets. I also have a number of pokemon cards with different rules on them with members of my family’s heads on them… *cough* yes well…yes.
I also crochet, knit, bead…it’s always a good time to study meditation, aura seeking, trying to get my chakras to open up a bit if they’re underactive…or getting my overactive one to shut up a bit *laughs* This is funny…my first chakra is underactive, the one that grounds and balances you…and my over active chakra is my throat… hehehehe so I’m unbalanced and loud! *cackles*Anywho, really I do a lot of random crap when I’m alone…*shrug* really too much to list off but those are a few.
May 26, 2005 at 5:40 am #122272EEDOKMemberoh and I forgot in my spare time I also like to scare people like Samy here away from channels like #bigblueball 😀
