But this is a different one..
First of all, hello to everyone and thanks for checking the topic, even if you decided you dont have a solution worth of replying.
I’ll be brief.
I start my computer, my computer shuts down, all by itself.
Before I even get a first image on my monitor of BIOS. After this, my computer wont turn on again, no matter how many times I push the power button. To make it turn on again I have to pull off the plug, wait for a couple of seconds and plug it back in.
Most probably the same thing will happen again after powering it up.
Yesterday I had to repeat this procedure about 4 times to make my computer stay up. Today I was patient enough (and desperate may I say) to go through that procedure about 14 times. Its up and running now, but I dont dare to shut it down again. Will it turn on next time?
I wouldnt be bothered much if I didnt have assignments and homework stored in my computer for my university. The local computer stores are pretty unreliable in tracking down the problem, if I dont tell them exactly where the problem lies it might take them a week to fix my piece-of-metal-junk-computer. I dont have the luxury of time however. I was hoping for a few pointers in this forum from people who are more experienced or might have dealt with this before.I suspect this is a hardware problem, right? I couldn’t tell, so I couldn’t pick the right forum to post this… The computer help section looked correct.
Thanks in advance.

I once had a PC that sometimes the Power On button did absolutely nothing, sometimes. Try again tomorrow.. it’ld be fine again, then next day, totally dead again.
I believe the cause of THAT was a faulty/worn out/broken Power Supply Unit. But I gather yours does give SOME sign of life when you start it… even maybe a couple of seconds? – before it dies again ?
Anyway, the very best of luck finding a solution. I couldn’t LIVE without my internet 😉 🙁
