ok alot of people put these links in there profile like this one http://www.originalicons.com/smile.html <--- creates a screen that flashes u are an idiot, bounces all over the screen and if u get lucky and hit the x in the window it will just span into many more. i was wonderin how ppl make these sites? is it some HTML or javascript??? and i also heard some of them open and close ur cd tray? how do they work :confused:
August 20, 2003 at 11:26 pm #91482ShadowSlayer469MemberThe one that flashes and moves around is programmed in DHML, and the one that opens your CD tray is programmed using VBscript, tutorials for these can be found at http://www.w3schools.com . The script to open your CD tray is:
Code:= 1 then
for i = 0 to colCDROMs.Count – 1
colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject
next
end if
–>But I am not responsable for any thing you do with this, if a person has a disk in the CD tray, It could ruin what they are working on and you will be held accountable for loss of informaiton.

August 21, 2003 at 12:02 am #91481ShadowSlayer469MemberYour welcome slntOPS, but remember, any loss of information this causes you will be held accountable, and I suggest that you delete the “,64” in line three, this would give the user a choice to not have there CD tray opened, thus you would be less likely to cause loss of informaiton.
August 21, 2003 at 12:28 am #91487slntOPSMemberlol i know, i know I AM RESPONSIBLE and thanks for the tip wit the 64
August 21, 2003 at 1:29 am #91480ShadowSlayer469MemberSlntOPS asked me on his IM screen name how he could make the window bounce around, becuase I did not tell how, and the DHTML tutorial did not provide enough informaition for him, and he did not want to open the web site and get the source code for himself(we all know why) So I came up with this crazy way of doing it, I know there are probably more easy ways but this is what I could think of within a few minutes of when he asked me(*puf puff puff* out of breath):
Open MS Word, open Tools–>Macros–>MS Script editor Now once that is opened up: File–>Open–> http://www.originalicons.com/smile.html (Hint: You can use any URL) and the web site opens up in HTML format without you having to get the script code yourself.Edit: Grrr… I just found a easy way to do this minutes after I told him to do this: Just right click on the link( http://www.originalicons.com/smile.html) and press Save Target As… and then just save it to anywhere and view it in a text editor.
August 21, 2003 at 1:34 am #91486slntOPSMembercan u plez also give me the script to close the cd tray?
August 21, 2003 at 1:42 am #91479ShadowSlayer469MemberI am sorry I do not know the awnser, I learned VBscript a long time ago but have forgotten, I found the code Here

It would? Now, I don’t know much javascript but I don’t see a code part where it stops if the user pressed ‘no’. In other words, click yes, click no.. it’ll always open.
August 21, 2003 at 12:40 pm #91478ShadowSlayer469MemberThe 64 in line three makes it so that the user cannot press cancel, and there is only an OK button when the Msg box pops up, so by deleting the 64, it is autimatically set to zero, and when it pops up, there are two options, OK and Cancel.

I know that, I’ve been programming long enough to know how msgboxes work. The message box does indeed display ‘Ok’ and ‘Cancel’ when you set the 64 to 0, but nowhere does this code check if the user pressed ‘Ok’ or ‘Cancel’. So no matter what button you press, the script will continue to run.
August 21, 2003 at 7:53 pm #91485slntOPSMemberi agree with DJHyperbyte, i tried removing the 64 and still the tray will open
August 21, 2003 at 9:11 pm #91477ShadowSlayer469MemberEr… sorry guys, a do if command should have been added and the 64 should have been taken away.
August 21, 2003 at 9:21 pm #91484slntOPSMemberits ok, thanks ShadowSlayer469 for ur help i created my site its http://www.htp.0catch.com/haha.html

function Jump()
{
a=a+1;
self.moveBy((Math.random()*a*2)-a,(Math.random()*a*2)-a);
self.focus();

u can find a whole list of msgbox commands here http://www.w3schools.com/vbscript/func_msgbox.asp -
