Are there any characters in MSN Messenger that appear invisible that would interrupt the code to turn that into a smiley? Is this doable via resource editing? (I doubt what I just said, but y’ never know). I want to make it so no one sees a smiley if I go “:[” because that’s not a bat to me. To me, that’s frowning. And I don’t even like smilies. But enough about that.
See, the thing is, MP!L adds a lot of features I don’t like and annoy the heck out of me, like the bbcode and alteration of certain unicode characters so my friends – that I’ll never make download any of this stuff – see mumbled garbage. And if my friends use those unicode characters, I see screwy stuff. Not my bag of chips.
……
Phew… that was kind of a pain. I found a way, though. I found there was a character that reverses text that’s three characters long but counts as one in Windows XP and I think in 2000 as well.
Hex: E2 80 AE: reverses
So I did some testing and found there was a character that unreverses – or makes text look just plain normal. I gave that a try. It worked. 😀
Hex: E2 80 AC: unreverses
Try copying and pasting this smiley (if the Internet doesn’t screw it up :D): :[
I tested it and it works; if you have problems, let me know.
