I noticed recently that “Kiwee” (formerly Blue Mountain) added a :new: “Audio Wink” to thier line up of winks.
At first I thought it would be funny and cool to have the sound of crickets playing during one of those uncomfortable silences in a conversation. I waited for the “opportune” moment to spring my new “funny”, but up popped a speaker (pulsing no less) on the screen to accompany this new audio wink!
Am I the only one who thinks an “Audio Wink” should be just that audio and no video?

I suppose there might be a way to do something similar with the “voice clip” functionality. Anyone have some ideas on that?
February 1, 2007 at 3:43 pm #156860MattBMemberWell, I just thought of the same thing, but instead of going for the audio winks, a little searching brought up an add-on called ‘Sound Clips’ which kinda does that.
The best thing about this is that the recipient doesnt need the program or MsgPlus or anything else like that. I also hate it when I send out Winks to my contacts only for them to tell me they have disabled winks.
Download it from Messenger Tools.NET > MSN Display Pictures, Animated MSN Emoticons, MSN Icons, MSN Winks, MSN Smileys, Avatars, MSN Names and more! (its on top of the page).
Jeff, it would be great if you could write up a page/tutorial/news article on how to use this program, I think lots of people would find it useful.
Tea Granny, any chance of sharing your cricket sound file, sounds like a good idea 😉

I just looked for some video winks, just to see if there are any (if anyone thought of it before I did :P) and .. lol.. there’s like three Add-ons of this type.
And I was “hey, that’s not such a bad idea..” just think of sending a youtube-wink of some sort 😀
Of course, no speaker involved here.. But what if I had a nice blue-eyed guy saying I love you 😀 Or if my boyfriend could record himself saying “Goodnight” and then send it to me everytime he feels like it but doesn’t want to start up the microphone and webcam.
Wouldn’t that be nice??
But these three are not.. free 🙁February 16, 2007 at 4:12 pm #156859Jeff HesterKeymasterOf course you can use the “voice clip” button to do almost the same thing. The only problem is that you cannot send pre-recorded clips, but your boyfriend could send you a “goodnight” without launching a full-blown voice chat.
