MemberMy company has been looking for a secure instant messaging program to use. We recently downloaded a program called “Intranet Pager” and was wondering if anyone has heard of it or used it. It worked extremely well for us so far but I’m curious how it compares to the Lotus and Microsoft equivilent. It cost’s about 1/3 of the price of both and seems to have every feature that Exchange and Sametime has plus a few. You can download a free 30 day trial version at http://www.intranetpager.com. If anyone has any info, please let me know. Thanks.

KeymasterSorry, but I don’t have any experience with it. I’ve used Lotus Sametime extensively, though. Frankly, the security functionality is over-rated in my opinion. Unless your company works in a regulated industry (banking, defence, etc.), I really doubt that security is all that necessary.
I did take a look at their web site, however, and was very unimpressed. It doesn’t come across very professional, which to me is a sign that they may not be very big (and therefore more likely to disappear at some point in the future).

MemberHehehe, I got that impression of a lack of profesionalism also it was made obvious by the inclusion of language flags with one each for Spanish French English and surprise…. one for US.
They seem to think you guys dont speak english, strange, isnt ‘chat’ their thing?

KeymasterThat didn’t bother me too much. Usually US companies don’t do that (arrogant as we are), but some other English-speaking countries do…just so we simple United Statians don’t get confused by words like “colour” and “humour.”
