I remember coming across an IM that encrypted files and allowed them to remain on one’s PC… I’m pretty sure it was called ALT. It had some other unique features for collaboration but I can’t find anything on it. Maybe that’s not the name of the IM. Can anyone help?
I’m looking for secure communications. Things are going to go from bad to worse with regards the government snooping on everyone and though I do nothing illegal, I’m concerned for my ministry, which is going to turn the “church” on it’s head. I can’t help the fact that will make me enemies. Also concerned for my wife, who is handicapped. She relys on me for helping her through her day. So, for those reasons I’m thinking ahead and looking for secure communications via encrypted IM and email.
Thanks,
Leroy
goooooooooood
Most free IM networks are open, The only one I know of offhand is Trillian SecureIM, but it is not a perfect (or even great) solution, as it is still vulnerable to attack.
You could also take a look at AIM Pro, which is also free, but it isn’t perfect either.
