KeymasterAs for the chat logs, I don’t really care about password protection. There’s a fine line between a useful tool and a bloated, oversized resource-hog. Right now MP2 falls into the “useful tool” category; let’s not push it into the bloatware side.

MemberJeff, I don’t think Encryping and Viewer would make Plus! 2.0 a bloat, I belive a small module for Encryption and De-Encryption would make it all up, The Messengers own DLL’s would be helpful for making a viewer.
No matter in business or personal, security comes first, and Encryption would also help safe messenging over MSN. I would be looking forward for this in Plus! 3.0

KeymasterFair enough. I just don’t want to through everything-but-the-kitchen-sink into MP2. Refine the few things that it does well, and leave it at that.

ParticipantQuote:quote:Is it possible to put a password to protect the chat logs folder?Faizan – you can try what I do. Find the folder that contains all your logs n’ change it into a hidden folder. Simple as that. Make sure your system is configured to hide all hidden folders. Now your folders are hidden to any other users on your computer yet still accessible by you.

Anyway, Thanks!January 12, 2003 at 8:20 am #65179urxlnc
Member:)well I think that is too simple to be mentioned…
I forgot to mention this earlier, but Plus! 1.47 also had parental contol protected by password, which is no longer available in Plus! 2.0 (Patchou Disabled it, dont really know where Patchou is leading)
In Plus! 1.47 whenever profanity is used in conversation, Plus! 1.47 use to log the chat in a separate directory in the PC, the directory could be accessed by a password (you can also access the directory, from windows explorer if you know the location)
I had tested this on Plus! 1.47 but this hardly worked, every time parental control is on and profanity is used, there was some sort of error generating by Plus! which caused the Plus! process to end 🙂 maybe patchou thought this is a kinda parental control 😀
Well, rather than developing on this feature, Patchou have disabled this feature in Plus! 2.0, maybe patchou had built a profanity dictionary 😀 and the logging chat module use to verify the chats with every word in the dictionary if the parental control is on… and another reason could be the dictionary contains the proper words, but not words like @$$… which makes parental control off… maybe this shows us the reason, why patchou disable this in Plus! 2.0
Parental control in chats would have been great useful for many, Patchou shouldn’t have disabled this in Plus! 2.0

MemberI WAS WONDERING I ALREADY DOWNLOAD MSN6 MESSENGER, AND I HAD MSN PLUS 2 BEFORE AND IT’S WORKING PRETTY GOOD, BUT I HAVE A FEW FRIENDS THAT ALREADY DOWNLOAD MSN6 BUT, THE MSN PLUS 2 DOESNT WORK ON THEM.WHY IS THAT?

ParticipantBecause Microsoft disallowed the way Patchou created the other versions of Plus! in this version on Messenger. He has found a way around in tho, and should be out not long after Microsoft releases MSNv6 on July 17th.

MemberWell, I’m not going for MSN6 untill a working successor of Patchou’s Messenger Plus! exists. I never thought I would find an add-on more valuable than its host…
