ParticipantYeah, I'll probably be shot for this… but can anyone recommend a FREE whatever to iPod converter (specificlly for movies). I've downloaded Videora but it always ends in an error, about not locating the original file.
Preferably an app that doesn't include a free 30 day trial, or doesn't offer you a referral to spam, plz 😉

ParticipantI am not familiar with the movie formats since I don't download them. But take a look at this and see if the formats you need are supported for encoding and decoding. (Beta HD version is here.)
I've used this for audio, and I know some video is supported but I don't know if it will do what you want or not. Best of luck!

MemberYes, I can tell you what I use: Handbrake. There are versions for Mac and PC, it's free, and it will rip and compress DVDs into a number of formats (including iPhone/iPod Touch, Sony PSP, etc.).
Works great!

KeymasterI use uSeesoft DVD to iPod Ripper.
It can rip almost all kinds of DVD movies to iPod video formats like MP4, MOV and M4V as well as iPod audio formats like MP3, M4A, and AAC,etc.
It works well for me.
it has two versions:
Mac version:DVD to iPod Ripper for Mac
Windows Version:DVD to iPod RipperSeptember 2, 2009 at 2:46 am #175343jungle

KeymasterHi, I have compared different converters and I recommend Convert-tune to download videos and audio files easily. 😉
Convert-Tune: convert your audio and video files to MP3, WMA, AAC, WMV, MP4, AVI for iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP
It converts music and movies, and also burn files on CDs. It is not free, but the tool is
easy to install and use. -
