that work with the newest version of AIM (5.5.3595)? I tried out Otsego but I don’t like their tabbed IM’s because it streches the IM window all the way and since my pc moniter has 800×600 it takes up a huge portion of the screen.
I think you may be out of luck, the only other add-ons that I can think of are AIMutation and Middle_Man, and according to their website, doesn’t support that version. My advise would be to go to a older version and use one of those add-ons.
-ColinMiddle_Man doesn’t have tab support. aand aimutation does work with the 5.5 vesions, but version 1.3 of aimutation is still buggy.
Smilez has what you’re looking for. It works on all versions and works flawlessly. It’s free too.

Actually, he was asking for the latest version of AIM, so I’m pretty sure his question was valid…
i’ll continue this question with this… I currently have Smilez, BUT I have an issue with its behavior… namely that there’s no keyboard shortcuts (that i’ve found) for much of anything.
mostly i’m looking for something to switch between messages. I know DeadAIM 3.2 (the free version) used CTRL-Tab and Shift-CTRL-Tab to move back and forth between messages… smilez doesnt seem to do this. also, there’s no keyboard command for closing a window – hitting ESC just makes the current tab blank, but doesnt actually close it. I very rarely use my mouse while IMing people
another problem I have with it is that it opens new IM windows, even ones you open yourself, in the background. which makes it one more thing you have to do separately and carefully so you dont confuse whoever you’re currently talking tosoooooooo……..any ideas?
I think I’ll try out the free versions of DeadAIM and I am usig smileez also. It is pretty good. I like all the choices of Smilees also. lol 😀
That’s odd. The tabbed windows don’t work for me! I don’t know what I’ll use. The deadAIM tabbed windows aren’t appearing
