Hi,
I just got back from Staples about 30 mins ago and I bought a speaker set w/a sub that was on sale….so I get home, I take everything out and hook everything up….nothing works….at all…so I figure ok, I figure I have something hooked up wrong…but no….there is static coming from the speakers and u can hear it come on and everything but there’s no audio, so I unplug the speakers from my laptop….and now the speakers built into the laptop are not working….and i’ve tried pretty much ever imaginable thing to try to fix this….so if anyone could please help me, im up for suggestions….thanks.
Tried reinstalling the sound card driver?
And i’m sure you have checked this, but the obvious things like making sure the laptop isn’t muted, and the volume is turned up.
there are two jacks for you to plug your speakers into on some computers. One jack causes the speakers to make no sound, the other is the correct jack. The color around the rim of the jack should be either green or pinkish, depending on what computer you use.
I think you said that even if you unplug the sound doen’t work on labtop.
On the tool bar all the way to the right of start menu or next to clock you should see a little speaker picture.
Right click and click open volume control.
Make shure it isn’t on mute.
Any of them.
That is the most obvious.
But also..
Go to start right click my computer and properties.
Click Hardware tab and click device manager.
Make shure the sound drive doen’t have a little ! in yellow next to it.
If it does right click uninstall then restart and it should auto re-install it.
