When I put up an Away message, I click on the button to hide all my AIM windows while I’m away, but that no longer works. When I click minimize, they just minimize to the taskbar instead of disappearing as they used to.
there should be an option in “Preferences” to “Hide taskbar button when Buddy List window is minimized” … make sure that’s checked, if that’s what you’re looking for
Um, thanks… *Feels like major idiot.*
i just noticed on my own aim that even when I have the above option checked, if I put up an away message and then minimize the buddylist, it doesnt disappear until I minimize the away message box too… so i’m not sure if that’s what you were having problems with…
if you’re talking about incoming messages not minimizing, then i’m not sure what the problem is… mine stay minimized
That’s the way it’s always been. You have to minimize the away message first. However, you should just be able to click the X, and your buddylist should minimize to the system tray.
Your suggestion helped. For some reason it’s unchecked by default in newer versions of AIM.
