i have msn messenger 7.5 on this computer and my brother can login fine with his hotmail acct. he msg’s ok. all is good.
when i log him out and try logging myself in, it says the server is down. obviously it isnt down because my brother was on like 2 mins before that.
i tried web messenger and msn2go and both java programs failed to log me in. i can still check my email at hotmail.com but i cannot use messenger with the hotmail.com address
am i banned, i dont know what is going on and it is totally frustrating. i ended up giving a buddy of mine my hotmail password and he tried logging on his comp and it failed, giving him the same error. server is unavailable….

Update – so about 2 minutes after i posted the previous post, i am now able to login to msn messenger, but to other people i appear offline.
i already sent microsoft a form telling them what the problem is. this is really eery

well your are the lucky one. i used gaim 1.5.0 and for some unknown reason it will connect to aim and icq but not msn or yahoo. i have tried for a week now and it refuses to connect.

I have the same problem : i have used Gaim 1.5 during this week, and now i can’t connect with MSN messenger 7.5 or Gaim. Or a few times. Where i can chat this my contacts, but can’t touch to my contact list (cannont add, move…)
And with a friend account, no problem.
I hope all of that will be past very soon.
