Hi all 🙂
Finally I’d setup my blog on blogspot but we can’t access it any more here in Pakistan:crying: , blogspot is blocked here:sick: . See this thread here how people are upset by this ban.
I want an alternative to blogspot, which have good features, easy to access and most important ‘less popular’. I don’t want to start bloging on any site that is popular because it can also be blocked any time 😮
Waiting for helpful voices 🙂I don’t have any suggestions, I only know of LiveJournal, just because it’s so popular, however, do you know of any more “formal” reports about this ban? I have a paper to write… I wanted to do it on censorship in pop culture, but couldn’t really narrow it down — I think is just what I need.
Edit: Nevermind, there was a link to a BBC report. Feel free to fire more at me though. 🙂
What about Yahoo! 360 or MSN Spaces? Both are popular, but are they blocked, too?
Anna Action Group Against Blogspot Ban in Pakistan is protesting against all this. You can find more info there and discuss with the group members, they are doing real efforts against this ban. We don’t know what happen happen Jeff Gov. blocking blogspot because it has cartoons, they can block any other site any time on any future issue. So it’s better to be far sighted and get prepared :p They have even blocked Google cache, so what can be expected?
So coming to the real issue, any site with features like blogsopt and specially I want to start Urdu and English blog, which means that it must have decent Unicode support.
Edit
Anna there have been many things baned here, sometimes Indian Goverment bans Pakistani T.V channels and then Pakistanis ban their. At the moment many Indian channels have been baned by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA). Just Google and find more & more.
