I use Windows 98, and unlike XP, doesnt come with that picture viewing thing, that can do slideshows as well in any window.
I was wondering if there’s are any programs out there, that are free (preferrably not trial), that allows me to view, zoom, do slidewhows and change things like brightness and contrast of my pictures.
You could try out Picasa from google. Thats free. Just go to the homepage then there should be a link for Picasa. If there Isn’t then here’s the link: http://www.picasa.com/google/ . I use it and its pretty good and even has some photo editing options.
Hmm…I’d like Picasa more if was able to simply select the directory (folder) of the images I want to view, instead of having it search it for me. Like a windows explorer type bar on the side for the directories. This is because I use this computer with other people and I dont want them to see my pictures, while their using the same image viewing program. (the hide feature is kinda pointless too if both users want to hide albums).
I also want a program that can be set as my default image viewer, like when I double click on the file, it’ll open up in the program. Instead of windows paint or internet explorer.
You can set almost any program to the default viewer by right-clicking the image file in windows explorer, and selecting “Open with” and selecting the program.
BTW, Irfanview is pretty nice.
Irfanview is pretty good for opening pictures. Not really a program for viewing albums and slideshows though. Slideshows should be activated with just one click. 🙂
