I try to stay logged in there whenever I’m home, but I don’t always notice when people enter the room right away. DJHyperbyte stays in their 24/7, although he’s usually not physically present.
Does anyone know of a way to detect if people are in the room, so I could display an icon or something here on the website whenever there is activity?

Sure, I’ll write a script for this. 🙂
Jeff, just /whois them and check out their idle time. This is a pretty good method of telling if a person is present…or at least if they are willing to talk.
That is not what he was talking about, he wants to be able to display an icon on the site whenever people are chatting in the channel so others will know people are there and join in.
Yes, it would surely encourage some of us to enter n chat.
9 times out of 10 there is nobody there when I enter.
