Do you have an penchant for graphics? A knack for deft pixel manipulation? Are you a budding, digital artist? This is your chance to show your stuff, and maybe even win a cool prize!
We’re holding the first ever BigBlueBall Link Graphic Contest! Everyone is eligible to participate, and the is no limit to the number of entries. The goal? Create a hot-looking link graphic. These graphics are used on blogs, other websites and can even be used in your forum signature on other sites — all with the goal of sharing the BigBlueBall goodness — and bringing your friends to the party!
Entries must be submitted by September 10, 2005 (just reply to this post with your images attached). The BigBlueBall Staff will review all the entries and select finalists, then we’ll open it up to the entire community and let you pick the winners!
Here are the guidelines:
- No obscene or inappropriate images/content
- No copyrighted images/photos may be used
And here are the sizes you can create:
- 80 x 15, no animation
- 100 x 15, no animation
- 88 x 31, animation permitted
- 50 x 50 AIM Buddy Icon size, animation permitted
- 96 x 96 MSN/Yahoo/ICQ Display Picture size; no animation
- 120 x 90 animation permitted
- 125 x 125 animation permitted
- 120 x 240 animation permitted
Keep in mind that these images will be used on other websites to promote BigBlueBall, so be creative!

Well, I suppose someone has to be first. I whipped these up quick, I’ll probably think of more in the near future.
What formats would you like these in? GIF, PNG, JPG… PSD? By default I save everything as PNG unless it’s animated, in which case of course I have to deal with GIF…. if you’re not picky, anything i submit will be in PNG or GIF.
first submissions (there *might* be more, if i get some time on my hands) are attached. i have to admit i was disappointed to see Spike’s post, cause i had a few 80×15 buttons like that sitting here waiting to be posted, but they’re almost identical so i wont submit those.

Ahh, sorry Tiger, I know you have your similar ones, but I swear mine are totally from scratch, I just happen to make them faster. Sorry! 😮here’s the next batch, making 6 in total thus far:
the next batch might have some animation (some of the ones i was working on for this batch had animation until i remembered which sizes can and cannot have animation in them… grr.)question: i’m wondering if instead of each person posting their buttons in separate posts, should we just combine all our submissions in one post and keep editing that post?

I would prefer if you just post another reply when you add images. If you just edit your post, I might overlook it.
Of course, we’ll collect them all when it comes time to pick the finalists, but until then, just add another reply instead of editing old posts, please.
*laughs* Oh my gosh, Kyle… All Your IM Problems Are Belong to Us…. *cackles* …Wow, that’s some old school there.
And *pet pet Tom* It’s okay, I still love you for all your creativity and wonderfulness. Though…I do believe, Spike, just to be fair, that Tom’s had them made for some time now, just because he’s an untapped resource like that and fiddles with things constantly *wink* You just submitted them quicker.
