Maybe we could have 2? Like a WB5 Enhanced with transparency, since that’s really what Kol is good for, and then maybe someone here can convert it to .msstyles
December 5, 2005 at 10:06 pm #134252DrBroccoliParticipantI dunno, we’ll see what happens with KoL.

I was just going to say…Let’s have a WindowBlinds 5 Enhanced theme with transparency, and then a more simple one for styleXP / WindowBlinds 4 / WindowBlinds 5 Freeware users. The skin should be simple and yet still give the “wow” effect, like the Vista theme. I like the colors of BBB, blue and green, but not too vibrant, keep them to a minimum.
Someone wanna design a desktop wallpaper for this, as well? If nobody else wants to, I’d be happy to, but I’ll offer it up to anyone else first. (Most WB5 themes come with their own desktop wallpapers)

I’d be happy too, maybe we could have a few and make this a bit of a contest hmm? Heh, BBB Graphic Comp all over again.

Not if KoL comes through for us, I dunno, I say we wait and see how things go?December 6, 2005 at 12:05 am #134264DragonSlayerzMemberHe certainly is!

Click the image below to go to it. (1024×768 version, there is also an 1600×1200 if anyone wants it)
Sorry, but I don’t see how that wallpaper pertains to BigBlueBall at all…Something like this is more appropriate:Actually, that turned out much better than I expected. Heh.
December 8, 2005 at 3:49 am #134265DragonSlayerzMemberCan I get a 1024×768 One?
December 8, 2005 at 5:00 am #134247SpikeMemberYou don’t need a 1024 version, just set this as your desktop, and choose “Stretch” as the layout type in your Display Properties. It will resize itself automatically, and the image won’t look any worse, if anything, it will be better. Why do you think I designed it as a 1600×1200? That way, if your desktop is smaller, there is no quality loss.
December 8, 2005 at 12:32 pm #134260MrEggsaladParticipantAh, much nicer than mine. I was basicly using the colors and going for an abstract look at things (plus I couldn’t get the globe the right size….lol)
April 4, 2006 at 5:58 pm #134266Tea GrannyMemberSorry, but I have to give an opinion on this one. I love skin themes. I have the alienware skins that stardock hands out for free. I don’t know squat about skinning or the related programs involved. I would feel totally left out of yet another computer related contest. Perhaps those who know how could create the skins, and the rest of us members could vote on the created skins. The top three skins could be picked (first, second and third place). You already have a “prevent favorites” type of system for voting in place, so hopefully there wouldn’t be “favoritsm”. Better yet, leave the creator’s name off until the voting was complete. That way, everyone at BBB would have some input to the skins – even if it was just voting. You keep emphasizing that BBB is a community. I may be part of a minority that doesn’t understand complex computer issues, but I’d like to feel that I am a part of the community.
April 4, 2006 at 8:56 pm #134261MrEggsaladParticipantGreat ideas, but honestly, many of us don’t know how to make actual Windowblinds skins. That’s why we talked to KoL about it, since he is fairly well-known for doing such a “smashing” job. However, we could still do mock-ups for a contest and implement your ideas Tea_Granny.
