Bitwise is a free chat program that had secure encryption. It is a simple small program with many customizable options, such as changeable colors and changeable icons. BitWise runs on both Windows and Linux operating systems, and Mac OS X will be suported in the future. Detached mode allows you to sign on without connecting to the server, and you can still chat with buddies on your list as long as a direct connection is possible to them. This is useful incase the servers happen to go down (which they never do, but hey, even AIMs and Yahoo’s go down sometimes.)
