Memberi don’t know how to make the line between away message and profile, nor do I know how to get rid of it..but, when you set an away message, you can just press the space bar a few times and click “I’m Away.” that will show a blank away message.

if you want to make the bar, press [ctrl]+[h], but I’m not sure how to get a blank away message, either.June 28, 2005 at 6:19 pm #108809Ithaca1937
MemberOtsego gives you the option to remove the separator between your away message and your profile.

Keymasterjust put any text inside a html comment tag.
Code:copy and paste it from your favorite text editor into your away mesage. if it works, jump for joy, if not… read on.
if you really want to be cool edit the registry (editing the registry is dangerous. if you need help please post before you mess around). the following (when saved as exported.reg) will allow you to add the “blank” away message to your list of away messages. it will overwrite GoneMsg1337, if you have one.
Code:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAmerica OnlineAOL Instant Messenger (TM)CurrentVersionUsersscreennameIAmGoneList]
“GoneMsg1337″=”blank <!–"just make sure to replace “screenname” with your actual screenname (in lowercase with no spaces).
you can also just click on a link to get aim to put up a blank away message.
Code:<a href="aim:goaway?message=blank away messagei would link it here, but BBB doesn’t support aim: links. 🙁
as you can see from the following screenshot (taken with AIM 4.8.2781) the away message is totally blank. no horizontal rule or actual text (no spaces either) is visible.

MemberI use this.. all you gotta do is put a space in the title box for the name of the away message, then you’re all set.

NdNElectronicsGeek wrote:how do u get the away message that is blank w/o a line there either?using the information provided you can get an away message that is blank and has no horizontal rule.as you can see from the following screenshot. the away message is totally blank. no horizontal rule or actual text (no spaces either) is visible. (works in 4.8.2781, may work on others)
