Hello …
Id like some help.
A friend on my list went offline and then my Yahoo immediatlly disconnected by itself and I had to log in. Did my friend boot me? Is there a way for me to know if so and what to do in that case?
Thanks a lot.December 17, 2005 at 2:29 pm #134907rustedtightMemberask him
December 17, 2005 at 11:17 pm #134910sunflowersMemberTo me, call me crazy, but if I suspected a friend of booting, I wouldnt be calling him/her a friend.
December 18, 2005 at 10:10 pm #134908DermotParticipantIt could only be coincidence that your friend went offline at same time, perhaps the server you were on had an issue and you were both on it and both got kicked off till you relogged in.
Not everytime you get logged off is a boot and should not be treated so.
December 20, 2005 at 3:15 am #134913HeavenlyMemberI wont ask the person and of course I dont call a friend someone who do such a thing. What Im looking for here is some help if that is possible or not. We dont use the same server. The person is in UK and I am in South America. Is there a way to know if someone on my Yahoo friends’ list is purposelly booting me?

There is no way to pinpoint who is booting you. However, application like Y!tunnel will let you catch the “bots” (if you are being booted really), which might give you some clue if you are being booted or not. Nevertheless that dont mean that it is your “friend” who got disconnected that booted you out. It could be anybody.:pBy the way, your location doesnt speak much of the server you are using. Like me for instance, I am from ASIA but I am using the US servers.:D

She wasn’t flooded by bots or anything so she has no real proof it was her “friend.” She could have simply been disconnected from Yahoo, it happens.
