Nearly two weeks ago now my screenname with AIM suddenly stopped working, across all computers and clients. The client either hangs, or eventually a timeout message is received. This is with both desktop clients, and even web-based clients.
If I try to login at aim.com, I’m told I have an invalid screenname or password. If I try to reset my password, I’m told “We’re sorry. The system is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.” Which I’ve received for the entire two week period. I get the same message if I try to re-register the account.
My friends can sign in with their accounts just fine, even on my computer…so the issue is clearly centered around my screenname. I’ve read on BigBlueBall that it likely means the server my account was on went down, but two weeks seems excessively long for repairs to be made. I don’t care if my buddy list has been wiped out, I just want access to my account again. I filled out a support request on AIM’s website, but it specifically states that they will not reply. Does anyone else have any other suggestions as to how I may recover my screenname? Thank you, and all the best.

Sorry for the loss of your screenname, should just go register another and move on.

I suggest to make sure that your not signed in on the same aim screename in 2 different computers because sometimes aim thinks that someone is like hacking or some dumb thing like that, thats why my old old one got tooken down.
