Ive been reading the forums for a while, but am just starting to post, and i know people have asked about aliasing, but what i want to know is if anyone knows of a simple program that simply lets you apply buddy aliases to your buddy list…i dont want to pay for DeadAIM 4 and i encountered some errors with AIMutation, so ive gone back to DeadAIM 3.2 so i can have logging and tabbed windows, and ive hacked up aim pretty well so i like how it looks, all i need is buddy aliases! Im currently using GoodAIM but i dont know like it has to reconfigure your proxy settings plus its just one more damn thing that i have to load! Thanks in advance! 🙂
There are several programs that let you do this including DeadAIM, AIM+ (I think), Trillian, and gaim. I stronlgy recommend you go with gaim cause its rock solid, has way more features, and the aliasing feature is there as well.
im just kinda curious as to why u want buddy aliasing, it shouldnt be to hard to remmeber who is who, well i guess that is different for different people…
ive tried Aim+ and Middle_Man and all of those and have ran into problems…i guess im waiting for Middle_man to be a final release, or for Otsego…but i like the aliasing cuz i like my buddy list very plain and simple so i like to just have the names instead of like X0CuTiEpIe69 or whatever thats all :p
