ParticipantNo see I’m using AIM Plus by the way…I want to know where on my C: Drive I can find my buddy’s icons. I used to be able to with just regular AIM. But how can I do it with AIM+?

ParticipantYou can see the icons by going to the AIM preferences and go to buddy icon. You can SEE the icons of your buddies but you cannot use them.

ParticipantSorry I just noticed that.. pretty lame, why the hell did they take that out. AIM is getting worse with every new version they put out.

MemberDon’t know if this helps, but Aim stores my buddy icons under “Documents and SettingsAdministratorApplication DataAimbartcache1”. All the icons are stripped of their extensions, so the best way to open and view them is probably to drag and drop them into an Internet Explorer window. If you log into Windows with an account other than administrator on your pc, you should probably look for a folder with your login name under “Documents and Settings” then “Application DataAimbartcache1”. The buddy icons on my pc, other than being stripped of their extensions have long file names, example “1332AE8791FEB1EA16C7DD9647C937F1”. Hope this helps.
Oh, I’m also running Windows 2000 Pro, and AIM version 5.5.3598

ParticipantIt’s a hidden folder, either enable the viewing of hidden folders (Tools > Folder Options > View > Show Hidden Files and Folders) Or manually add it to the address bar.
