Im really confused…Ok so you scan an alias and its not online? but it is?
There are mitigating circumstances in order for buddy spy to report back the correct information.
If they are on firewall w/ no proxies. you are able to fool buddy spy.
Hope that helps?

Participantmake sure that in the “scan options”, the “scan type” is set to “peer to peer”.
setting it in other modes often gives u wrong info about offline or invisible.December 22, 2005 at 1:43 pm #135020bbe7994
Memberthanks yeah it is set for peer to peer

Memberthanks unsakred for the info, about the firewall issue, does it give false positives if the firewall is set up with no proxies…..? in other words if the person is really offline could it show them as online when scanned with buddyspy?

MemberHello… my Yahoo is set up at Firewall with no Proxies and even if I am online and I scan myself with Buddyspy it says Im always offline no matter if I scan myself a million times. I dont know though if you are really offline the program will show you a false positive. I know the opposite happens…. If set up Yahoo Messenger as firewall with no proxies buddyspy will never says the person is online even if it stays online forever. Maybe with this setting buddyspy can give false positives or false negatives. Im not sure. I just know about the false negatives….
