Just rebuilt my old Packard Bell system. Not sure what mobo it is, but its an Intel 430VX chipset. When I power it on, it makes a periodic buzz. Buzzes for about 2 seconds, then 3-4 seconds of silence, another buzz, and so on. Anyone know what its trying to tell me?
I checked my jumpers and theyre set the same way they’ve always been.
Edit: Nevermind, seems that the RAM wasnt seated correctly. But now I can’t get any video. It has onboard graphics.. any suggestions at what could be wrong?
I can’t really see anyone helping you, you could have done a number of things. Is it beeping? Try reseating the CPU in the socket, and disconnect and PCI and IDE devices until you get the VGA working again.
f0rbez, motherboard manufacter/brand will certainly help.
I’m not totally sure who manufactured the mobo. It doesn’t say so I assume Packard Bell did. I’ll try disconnecting those and reseating the CPU. This was just a last attempt to try everything before I declare it dead.:)
