Cable modem speed test

I like the speed tests at Broadbandreports.com. They actually just provide access to numerous speed tests around the globe, allowing you to pick the location closest to you. What’s really nice about Broadbandreports is that if you are a member (you can sign-up for free), your speed test results will be stored, so you can easily run the test on a periodic basis and compare results. You can also compare results with other users on the same ISP, in the same postal code, etc.

I’ve used their forums when I’ve had trouble getting my three routers working nicely (wireless, VoIP, fiber optic, etc.) and they always come through.
