Well, for Anime wallpapers, I use http://www.animegalleries.net/. They have a lot of anime/manga wallpapers there.
http://www.digitalblasphemy.com is a very nice site for wallpapers.

And Hyperbyte is right; I’ve known about http://www.digitalblasphemy.com for a year or two, and the wallpaper there is ABSOLUTELY amazing.
Another site which has tons of desktop pictures is http://www.webshots.com. I am not too fond of their other wallpapers dealing with 3d art or science fiction (If that is what you are looking for) since I have seen better at the sites mentioned above. If you are looking for nature, oceans, animals, and real pictures and not program made then I suggest webshots. It has a program you download where you can manage and sort your albums and stuff.
