Is there a way I can have more than one yahoo messenger….one for family and the other one for online friends.
I am not sure by what you mean exactly. But if you mean can you log on two names simultaneously, yes you can get a chat client some thing like yahelite or yazak

ok what I am saying is that I want to seperate accounts under yahoo messenger…both with the smiley faces….one for my real name and one for my online….I want to run both at the same time….is there a way
Yes, check out Martin’s link above… that program will allow you to open Yahoo Messenger multiple times and sign in with more than one ID. You will have a separate messenger open for each ID you sign in.
You don’t need to run multiple instances of Yahoo! Messenger. Y! Messenger has a built-in capability to create multiple aliases that you can use simultaneously with people.
Here’s how the concept works:

I have found this website which provides a patch for Yahoo to allow multiple sign-on’s
