Can I keep my aim signed on anyway on my laptop while its in sleep or hibernate mode? Or would I just have to leave my laptop on and if I had a cooling pad would it be ok to leave on overnight?
December 28, 2008 at 12:29 pm #172641Chris HoppusMemberi have a friend who uses a laptop, her computer uptime normally ranges up to over a week. so leaving it on over night, shouldn’t be a problem.
if you’re having problems with your computer heating up when it’s on for over 24 hours, a cooling pad isn’t going to help you that much. maybe you should have some professionals look at it or someone who can help you…
now normally aim shouldn’t sign off when your computer goes into sleep mode or anything like that, i’ve never heard of it. if what you really want is to have your screenname on at all times, and you can’t keep your AOL Instant Messenger client to keep signing off, use the web client AirAIM (airaim.com), you can sign on your screenname on that web client, and close the browser, and it’ll keep your screenname signed on, when you go back to the page, and sign on, you’ll see all the messages you recieved.
hope i’ve helped!
