I have a favorite site I frequent. It has small clips of a teen rated game. They are all in the .wmv format. I view the clips on my windows media player. I click “add currently playing item”, but all that gets saved is the address to the file. The server on this site can apparently only handle one persons request at a time, so I can only access what I want one in every twenty tries. Can I save the entire file, or will it only save the address to the file? I have windows xp home, and wmp version 10. I’m really getting burnt out trying to get these files to download every time I want to see them. I’d like to keep a copy of the whole file in my media player, not just the address to it. Can this be done?
when you right click to save it. try save target as. that might work. anytime I am saving a media file is what I do and they save just fine. I am guessing but if it wont save like this then they have placed something there to keep you from saving it. have a happy day
also once you have it playing in WMP, you should be able to go to File > Save As and save the currently playing file to your hard drive.
Oooooo boy!!!! Consider this a big sloppy wet kiss!!!! Ping ping ping!!! I’m so happy. Thank you so much. The “save as” was exactly what I was missing. Ask and ye shall recieve! I hope I didn’t just gross the pair of you’s out. If I did, then consider this a big firm manly handshake. Ping ping ping …. (I’m bouncing off the walls)
