For some reason, I can’t connect to ANYONE. It just started happening and I have connected many times before. I know this is probably related to my firewall and have tried tweaking settings but cannot get it to work.
I have gone into the configuration of the firewall and have set it to allow every executable file in the AIM directory, as long with everything else in there.
I have Norton Internet Security 2005 and if anyone has any settings they know to work or have any ideas they would be appreciated.
Thanks
Disable the firewall first, and then see if you can. This will determine whether or not it is a firewall problem. Also, which firewall do you have?
I have Norton Personal Firewall..it’s included in the software I mentioned above
Do what Martin said, and disable the firewall. Then report back to us.
I just tried and after shutting it off it works…do you know what I could do to the settings to allow it to work while the firewall is still on?
Anyone have any idea?
Maybe you will have to search up google to see the ports AOL uses to send/receive files. That happens to me but I do not use that feature much. If I find it I will tell you.
Ok I’ll try that, thanks
