Actually I deleted it already. But when I sign in again, it still there. Even move to my friend PC to sign in YIM. What happen to my YIM list or that nickname have some … yo know, magic???
November 22, 2006 at 11:20 am #154605Eagle_KiwiMemberHi there, ANH.
Are you sure you mean NICKNAME, and not Yahoo ID ?Seems to me one’s ID is fixed no matter what – but you can change your nickname any time you like (as long as you don’t use any characters like [ ] , ‘ ” @ etc that are not allowed in nicknames).
And you can even change it to “nothing”, in which case YM defaults to showing your first/last names instead – then if you blank those out too it defaults to show your ID.
I just erased MY nickname, exited, opened YM again, and sure enough it is still blank – so I can’t imagine what causes your problem.
Perhaps someone else can help shed some light here ?November 23, 2006 at 1:45 am #154607anh3xaoParticipantHi there, Eagle. My name is Minh.
Thanks for your support. You’re right, that’s Yahoo ID, not nickname.I dont know why there is a Yahoo ID existing in my list, really dont know. So, I delete that Yahoo ID and signout. But, when I signin, that Yahoo ID, once again, auto add to my list, like magic. Of course, I try deny that Yahoo ID, try add that Yahoo ID to my ignore list,… Doesnot work 🙁 Now I have to live with that really really hate Yahoo ID.
Search around but can not find any solution to fix this. So sad.
Thanks any suggestion.
November 23, 2006 at 11:00 am #154606Eagle_KiwiMemberNice to have you here at BigBlueBall, Minh. 🙂
That really sounds an intriguing problem now!
Is that ID someone that you know, or used to know ?
And/or is it an “ordinary” looking ID (or does it have any odd characters showing in it) ?I guess when you delete it you also tick the “Delete from Address Book too” option ?
And…. can you successfully delete OTHER IDs from your list ?
(You can add “eagle_kiwi” then delete it if you want to test this).November 24, 2006 at 6:48 am #154608anh3xaoParticipantSame hehe 🙂
Yep, Really harmful problem.
If I know that Yahoo ID, I will kill that guy, hehe. Yep, that’s an “ordinary” looking ID. It just like yours, for ex: “domainname_net”, kind of ads. Am I … right?
There’s more injected guys here already, my friends. 🙁
Still looking around the google.
Thanks you Eagle.
November 27, 2006 at 9:51 pm #154603NettiMemberThis has been an ongoing problem for quite awhile.
It use to happen because as soon as the person adds him/herself to your list, they go and delete that alias off their account.
Then when you click deny, yahoo doesn’t know what to do, because the name you are denying does not exist.
So it sits there.
There’s a few things you can try.
Go to your email and see if the name exists in that list.
Also go to your friends list which can be found online, and see if you can delete it from there.
This is the linke to your yahoo friends list.

If that doesn’t work, also try deleting your ypagerlog. This is where all the information about who you pm’d, camed, file transfered, etc. is stored.
Try those things, then get back to us and let us know.

I did have a similar problem in 360 but yahoo! fixed it.
