MemberHere is a support request one of the guys in my company sent to yahoo:
Quote:I cannot edit some of my contact details in yahoo messenger. I am in an office of people and I’m the only one that is having problems. If I try and edit a contact like “dj333”. When I type a nickname or name for the contact then click save, it says there is already a contact called “dj333”.I went to yahoo address book and edited the details from there. That worked temporarily but on restarting the PC, all the contacts reverted back to having no contact details.
I have also noticed that fields such as First name, Last name, nickname and e-mail are all marked as “required” fields but on other people’s PCs they are not.
I’m thinking may be similar to a problem found here: Cannot Delete nickname yahoo messenger list. So I’m going to try out deleting the “ypagerlog”. However as I said, we already editted things from the online address book, it would work. But then revert back when restarting the computer?
Any ideas?

ParticipantDoes this only happen on the work pc?
The pc in work may have certain files access blocked from employees that yahoo require to save such settings.
Do employees have full access to the registry at work?
What build of messenger does he/she use, is it normal messenger or business messenger, more info would be grateful.

MemberIts normal messenger, I have access to admin account (and therefore the full registry). The user can edit some contacts, just not all of them. He also should have the same permissions that my normal account has and I have no problems.
Unless you have any ideas finding out which specific files he could not have access to?
EDIT: What I mean by that, I know how to look at windows file permissions, and his permissions on active directory (which should be the same as mine). But are there any files he may not have access to that would cause this problem. So I can check individual files (It could well be a problem with his active directory profile as there have been some other problems with it (totally unrelated to file permissions and yahoo messenger though).
Thanks for the help!
EDIT2: Where is this file “ypagerlog” ? I couldn’t find a ypager.log either but found ypagerrps.com? What should I be deleting?
