Here is my problem. I have installed windows XP and there is a default MSN messenger that I can’t uninstall. Well, if I can, I don’t know how. I was running MSN messenger 6.1 fine when I decided to uninstall 6.1 to install 6.2. Now when I start 6.2 there is an error message telling me the following “This application has failed to start because the applicaton configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem”. I tried that with no success. So is the problem with the MSN messenger that comes default with XP. Does it not matter at all. How can I fix this problem .

After installing, run the setup program again from here:
http://messenger.msn.com/Download
and when prompted, choose the ‘Repair’ option — then after this, try running Messenger again.
Lance 4K, you’ve just said exactly the same thing as me. I posted the solution at least 5 days before you. Try reading the rest of the topic before posting.
