I added this question to another forum post, but I got no reply so I assumed that no one actually saw it as a question in and of itself.
I have been trying for the past week or so to register a new screen name for AIM. However, I keep getting this message that says, “Sorry we are unable to register you right now. Please trey again later.” Is the AIM site down??? Any ideas????
Are you trying to create it using AIM, or by going through their web site? I just tried creating a screen name using their web site and it worked perfectly.
I tried both, and neither worked. I just clicked the lilnk you provided, which i have tried before, and I get the same message. It is 1002am ET. I say this b/c maybe someone know if you can only register during certain hours. I am on a network at college, which has people to people sharing block (ie kazaa, bearshare, winmx) could this block possibly be affecting it???
The file sharing blocks won’t effect your ability to reach that web site.
Since you’re having problems even through the web site interface, I’m puzzled. The error seems to indicate that AOL servers are overloaded with new screen name requests, which is possible, but doesn’t seem very likely.
At this point, you might just retry every 5 minutes or so for an hour and see if it eventually succeeds.
I still cannot reg a sn jeff. Are there anyother ways to register a password??? If not could you please IM so I can give you the info to attempt to reg a sn for me??? Or is that not allowed in the forum…if not I appologize. My sn is B Jigga 8 Thanks for your help

Learn to accept previous answers from members if they are good enough. I would guess 80% of the forum members could do this. If they all posted here “I could do it” then the thread would be subject to immediate deletion. 🙂

This happened to me for abvout two days but after those two days it was better
Just wanted to thank whoever got that screenname registered for me. I was greatly appreciated by myself and the individual who it was for. I say whoever becuase a few people with same info, and I am not really sure who actual went and did it. Thank you nonetheless
