Whenever I try to click on links from Messenger it either wont load or I’ll get an error about how Windows couldn’t find the link. Someone told me something about hyper links but I’m able to click on hyper links on web pages,.. just not in Messenger. Does anyone know what’s wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
Its probly just yahoo Im assuming your talking about going to tool > Inside Yahoo . right? and you get a Error . Yahoo has been doing this for a while even if your on Yahoos start up page(home page) And click acct info or from My Yahoo to acct info its a 50 /50 chance it loades Most times you will get a 404 page cant be displayed .
I just clicked on (Help > Messenger Home) from Messenger and it gave me this….
Windows cannot find http://us.rd.yahoo.com/messenger/client/?http://messenger.yahoo.com/ . Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
I get this message everytime I click on a Link (from Messenger ONLY) regardless if it’s a link within the tool bar or a link in the chatroom.
I was deleting and uninstalling some things today, some of which I remember and others that I don’t remember but thought I no longer needed. I’m on XP and I use IE6, I thought it was the browser at first but the browser works fine everywhere else just not when Messenger tries to access it.
If anyone knows what I’m not paying attention to, or what I’ve deleted that I shouldn’t have, please let me know I would really appreciate it.
I figured out what it was,.. I guess it was Internet Explorer. I eventually noticed another problem with clicking on links when I wasn’t even logged on to Messenger. So I did some messing around and just as I was about to give up and uninstall IE6 and reinstall it, I noticed an option on Add/Remove Programs that said Repair.
So anyways,. it’s working again 🙂
