Jabber has been adopted by my corporation as the IM of choice but because of security concerns they have refused to load the gateways to other IMs. Additionally the Jabber server is behind a firewall and therefore the only way for me to co-workers to IM me while they are working on issues (we are a 24×7 support orginization) is to call via the phone. This is cumbersome.
Does anyone know of a Jabber client that would allow me to communicate via Jabber while connected to the office but still setup a client only connection to the other IM services? I guess what I am looking for is a fusion between Trillian and Jabber if any exist.
Any help provided would be most helpful
What yr looking for is some way to punch a hole tru your corporations firewall. get friendly with the dude who is in control n find out whats being used.
Until then theres really nothing to be said.
Tho, if coworkers need to communicate then the dude can install in in-house chat client, tell him/her its needed n why.
Does a java client work?
