Can someone please help? I cant connect to Live Messenger. I keep getting an error code 80048439. The check list highlighted proxy setting and ports? I dont understand this properly and would be very grateful if someone could help please. Thank you
This error can be caused by problems on the MSN servers, look at the status page to see if there are problems reported. If there are, the best thing to do is probably to wait until they are over.
They give you an option to repair. Click it. If that don’t work i had an issue with this earlier it let me connect with a different screen name. If that works then just wait abit and try to reconnect to your main screen name.
I’m not sure if your using an addon if you are uninstall it.
Thank you for your replies. Actually, this is my daughter’s MSN and I’m just trying to get it fixed for her. All I know is that she downloaded this latest version recently and is was working fine up unti llast night. When I ran a troubleshoot is had an exclamation mark against the proxy server and ports? I have checked the proxy setting and the ‘use a proxy server for this connection’ box is ticked. I tried the ‘repair’ but it would’nt have it.. Any further ideas please. Many thanks for your time and help.
I had a lot of similar problems, and after trying to reinstall several times LiveMessenger, & having suggestions from the MSN Support team (witch unfortunately didn’t make it work better), I desintalled LiveMessenger and … reinstall MSN Messenger 7.5 froms Microsoft Download site.
All my contacts are back, no more “network” problems … Everything is perfect again !
