April 17, 2006 at 1:48 pm #142606niq6566MemberUmmm maybe it’s just me, but i don’t really understand what you are trying to do there. I did a search on my yahoo files, and i have neither filters1.txt nor filter1.enc.
Perhaps it would help if you could specify your actual problem a bit. 🙂April 17, 2006 at 7:20 pm #142605Torseq Tech.Membereztalker> It used to be called filter1.txt when the contents of the file weren’t encoded. Now the file is called filter1.enc, as you’ve noticed; the .enc filename extension indicating that it’s been encoded.
Years ago editing your filter1.txt with “boot code strings” could help to stop some of the chat room-specific crash codes (html, js). It never did anything to stop actual booters from booting you by any other means (PM bombing, cam invites, conf invites, add buddies etc) since all the filter1.txt/filter1.enc files govern is preventing text strings from being displayed in your chat room window.
If you really want to edit the filter1.enc file you’ll need to figure out how it’s been encoded first so you’re able to add your own strings to it. It’d be pretty pointless since this won’t prevent you from being booted nowadays even if you were to figure out how to edit it.
August 8, 2006 at 12:52 pm #142607sh4dow_2006Memberas Torseq Tech. stated editing it will probably do nothing to help from booting, but it can be edited by double clicking the file. then you will get a prompt asking you if you want to find a program on the web to read the file or choose from a list. select choose from a list then choose to open it in notepad this will allow you to see the encoded strings. Even though I agree that it probably helps nothing at all to protect booting, I edited mine with new strings I got from info on a booter web site. I figure what the heck even if it dosent work cant hurt anything, after all that file is only for filtering out cuss words in chat rooms. here is the code I entered in mine
<iframe,<src,<sound,<body, <fade,<html,</iframe,</snd,</body,
</html,<embed,</embed,<img,<url,<a ,<&#,&#,msg:</all you need to do is open it with note pade click edit menu, select all, delete, then copy this string in its place and close it set your word filter to strong in yahoo messenger and click apply
