Cant Get Messenger2 to connect

Anyone try out Messenger 2?

I try to connect on AOL but the status window keeps giving me a Socket error and it never successfully connects.

I just downloaded Messenger 2, I’m able to connect AOL IM just fine.

Maybe what you need is to download the patch available on the site.

Messenger 2 is neat, but it is somewhat a copycat of Trillian with some bugs. I’d advise anyone to stick with Trillian. 🙂

Messenger2 has been brought up in the past, and in my experience, I had major problems with AIM. Also, it had several bugs that programmers hadn’t worked out. But I guess you can’t complain for something that is free.

Brian, what is the away system in Messenger 2 like?
AIM style, where you have the queue, and have the ability to suppress windows/sounds/notifications
or
Trillian style, where you have an Away Message Box that holds IM windows while away?
