Ok, yeah so I open up the client, and I click on a person, then it only stays highlighted on that person and the message window doesn’t open up. Also, then I can not select any other contact but when I hover the little info thing does come up. I’d like to actually be able to use this thing, but I mean…it’s impossible as it is.

I suggest just staying on 7.5 until Yahoo! Messenger 8 is out of beta.
Not really sure why it’d be giving you that problem, you should probably give them feedback here – http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/messenger/cgi_beta_feedback
be sure to tell that all your computer specs.
June 26, 2006 at 6:23 pm #146987MrEggsaladParticipantThanks for the suggestion, I went and did that hoping they fix it. Here is what I posted:
Alright, I’ve got many problems here. First, I can NOT exit the messenger and must always close with Ctl+Alt+Del, the “Exit” seems to do nothing. I can not IM anyone, for when I open up the contact window I just have the menu. On the contact list, I can not double click a person to open the IM window. Once I click someone their name does highlight, but after that first I can still hover over other people’s ID’s and get that info window but I can not click on them to highlight. The plugins including the ones given to me by default stayed blank and would not load up. I also never had “Inside Yahoo!” pop up. I can only open the IM window by hovering over a contact then clicking the IM button, but even so that doesn’t always work and when it does I only have the menu, no message stuff. Here are my specs:
OS: WinXP Professional 5.1 Service Pack 2 (Build #2600)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 2.01 GHz
Video: Plug and Play Monitor on ATi Radeon X850 Series (1680x1050x32bpp 60Hz)
Sound: Realtek AC97 Audio
Memory:1024MB
Connection: Wireless-G PCI Adapter
Hope you fix this, because for me as it is it’s useless 🙁June 26, 2006 at 6:39 pm #146986xxDarkAngelxxMemberYahoo beta takes forevvvvvvvvver to connect. It seems to connect when it wants to.
June 26, 2006 at 9:01 pm #146984UnSaKreDMemberMy experience w/ the new beta has been rather good. I have only a few complaints, my voice is always on when I enter the room and I can not turn it off(minus my registry hack) and sometimes when I right click to view profiles It crashes. Also the error of right clicking on a nickname to view profile, still tries to resolve the nickname instead of the actual screen name on yahoo profiles… But then again this is why its called a beta
