when its copying new files it says cannot create directory C:Windows….ect. and then a file wi h name already exist please rename or remove this file and click retry or exit. and i dont know what the hell that means i tried retry and it doesnt work and then cancel exits the install i had that same stupid sign in problem and i tried to reinstall a few times and then this time i got this message please help!
Looks like its saying that you already have it. Try uninstalling the previous versions of Messenger, and then reinstall it.
This might also stop any problems from it freezing when signing in.hmm..wich version u wanna install….if its MSN 6.0 …have u install the BETA version..if yes so 1st unstall and remove it then install the new one…..
OpTiMiSt, if you read the topic title it IS 6 they are trying to install, and that is exactly what I just posted, but in other words. =/
i have windows ME and when i downloaded msn 6.0 it worked fine but one day i was signing in and this thing popped up and said would u like the new version of msn 6.0 and even if u didnt want it, it wouldnt let u sign in….so do i just download it???
i downloaded it b4 but as i was signing in it just froze

ya thats the exact same error i get maybe the directory er whate4ver is different but mine comes up like halfway through installatiion and ive tried to uninstall everything that has to do wtih msn and then try again and i still get that message but only with 6.0 when i install five again it works fine.
