Does anyone know the name and artist of an older rock song (I think) that in the chorus says words about a girl and then, “ha na na, ha na na”?
thanks for the help in advance..
June 2, 2006 at 2:19 am #145666TigerbladeParticipantuh… that’s not really all that much to go on. you can’t remember any lyrics other than “ha na na ha na na”? um… best i can think of is Steam – “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye“
if that’s not the one you’re thinking of, you’ll probably need to come up with some better lyrics than that.

Van Morisson – Naked in the jungle?June 2, 2006 at 10:46 pm #145667Sh8keS 32MemberIt’s neither of those. Sorry, I know my description was very vague, but that’s all I can really remember besides that I liked the song. But, thanks for the help anyway.. I’ll keep searching. :p

They’re Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-haaa!
Remember when you ran away
And I got on my knees
And begged you not to leave
Because I’d go berserk?
Well. . .You left me anyhow
And then the days got worse and worse
And now you see I’ve gone
Completely out of my mind
And. . .They’re coming to take me away, HA HA
They’re coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I’ll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they’re coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!You thought it was a joke
And so you laughed
You laughed when I had said
That losing you would make me flip my lid
Right. . .You know you laughed, I heard you laugh
You laughed, you laughed and laughed
And then you left
But now you know I’m utterly mad!
And. . .They’re coming to take me away, HA HA
They’re coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the happy home
With trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they’re coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!I cooked your food
I cleaned your house
And this is how you pay me back
For all my kind, unselfish loving deeds?!!
Hah. . .Well you just wait
They’ll find you yet
And when they do they’ll
Put you in the ASPCA, you mangy mutt!
And. . .They’re coming to take me away, HA HA
They’re coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I’ll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they’re coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!To the happy home
With trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they’re coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I’ll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they’re coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!June 3, 2006 at 12:54 am #145664OreoMemberPerhaps “Hey Jude” by the Beatles written by Paul McCartney? Though the song is not about a girl…it’s actually for Julian Lennon…

June 28, 2006 at 2:49 am #145669princeGParticipantNo I think Oreo is right, it probably is Hey Jude, seems to fit more than any other song mentioned here.
