MemberHi everyone, forgive me if this question has been asked before, and sorry for the length of the thread.
I’m using MSN 7.5 and have had no problems until yesterday, then I noticed that the display picture from one of my contacts had changed to the default MSN one.
Then I also noticed that I could not see any of their emoticons either including custom ones, which makes chatting hard. lolI messaged them to ask why and they replied that they were using their normal display picture and emoticons etc and no one else had problems seeing them.
I checked my ‘options’ and the ‘show display pictures from others’ was ticked still as were all other references to emoticons.
I ended up uninstalling MSN 7.5 and searched for all files and folders and deleted them all. I then downloaded a new version of 7.5, installed it, same problem still happening.
I noticed that some of my previous settings which should have been deleted with the uninstallation had returned suggesting that there may have been a hidden folder or file that I had missed but I have no idea where.
I’ve scanned for viruses etc and also did a system restore to two days previous, just in case, but still the same problem.
Everything else works ok, has anyone got any suggestions or ideas?Cheers

MemberYeah thanks for nothing. No answers and not even a hi from anyone.
Found a decent site where not only was I made welcome but I had an answer the next day on how to fix the corrupted file.
What a useless forum this is, I won’t be back again, you are a pack of ignorant assholes.

ParticipantHarry wrote:Yeah thanks for nothing. No answers and not even a hi from anyoneWell if no one answered is because maybe no one here knew the answer? We aren’t all professionals so we don’t know all possible answers. And if you wanted a hello i suggest you should have posted in the Introduction Section, you would get many hi’s and welcome’s there. There is no need for aggression. You are actually the first person i see get so aggressive over this, usually someone just *bumps* their thread up so people can notice it. Sorry you didn’t appreciate what this forum has to offer. 🙂

MemberNot everybody here are professionals on this kind of thing you know. Don’t tell us we’re ignorant. Maybe the people here weren’t too sure on how to fix this certain problem. I have made threads with no replies and I don’t have a spastic attack over it. Here’s a tip; Get over it and move on. We don’t need people like you at this forum anyway. We are happy just the way we are. ^_^
End of rant. :p
Oh and by the way, this forum rocks. I always get great help here. Thanks everyone! 😀
