When I try to type in my IM windows it wont type, rather its like it thinks im holding down the ALT key.
e.g. when I hit the letter I, the new IM window pops up. Letter T, invite talk, C invite chat, etc.
Typing works in chat rooms and such, but not in IM windows.
Ive tried reinstalling AIM.
I dont have any complimentary programs installed (deadaim or such).
Im running windows XP. The computer is only two months old.yeah I have this same problem from time to time. when I do have this problem I restart my computer and the problem just seems to go away. I think by pressing a combination of buttons in a certain order triggers some command that make the computer press control before every letter that you type. I hope that helps some good luck.

do you maybe have something like sticky keys enabled?? that sounds like it might be similar

its because of SpyBot
im assuming that used it recently? right.
well, I just use GAIM.
but if you type the INSTANT you open an IM box, letters come up.
so like type stuff in word, copy it, then highlight a s/n on your b/l. press enter. and THE INSTANT AFTER you PRESS ENTER, PRESS CTRL+V!!!
but thats a waste. just use GAIM

SpyBot messes up your AIM!
